Guilherme Paulus from that point on set out to redefine his life. He found an internship at IBM where he worked for some time during which he would come to discover that as much as he liked working for them, he was not cut out for this industry. He quickly found another job as an airfare salesman something that he truly enjoyed. During his time here, he met a future business partner. In the years that followed the would start CVC a travel agency that has today grown into the biggest tour operator in Brazil. The company is today listed on the Brazilian stock exchange even though Guilherme Paulus already sold a majority of its shares to a private equity firm.

Following the success of CVC, Guilherme Paulus sought to join the hotel industry. His ability to smell opportunities from a mile away had always kept him ahead of the competition, and this would show in the strategy he chose to follow when he established the GJP network. Brazil was experiencing a wave of tourists who were visiting to enjoy the various destinations within the country especially the sandy beaches. This would be his first stop building a number of hotels and resorts in these areas. In 2009 it was announced that Brazil would be hosting some global sports events. This news spurred him to start investing in hotels near the country’s major airports. He had realized that most visitors needed the convenience of travel and accommodation and he was about to fill this niche. As the network grew so did the number of employers, and today the network boasts more than 3,000 rooms located all over the country.
