Luciana Lossio’s Success In Law, As A Minister And In Sports

The Minister in charge of Superior Electoral Court, Luciana Lossio, is an alumnus of the University Center of Brasilia. In 1999, Lossio graduated with a degree in Law and was also approved to the Bar Association of Brazil. Over the years, Lossio has had a successful career in law, particularly in the area of Electoral Law. In addition to the law degree, Lossio has three other degrees.

Lossio has degrees in civil procedure, state and constitution and legal order and prosecution. It is imperative to note that Lossio is one of the members of the Brazilian Institute of Electoral Law (IBRADE). While working as a lawyer, Lossio had many clients including governors and senior executive branch members. As a woman, she has had much success in her profession. Lossio is regarded as the first female lawyer to be appointed in the male-dominated position of substitute minister of the superior electoral court in 2011.

Lossio served at the Attorney General’s office for seven years. Here, she worked with Geraldo Brindeiro and Claudio Fonteles. The two individuals were former general prosecutors. While working at PGR, she advised on the different process using TSE and TSF and most importantly, using the existing legislation at the time. She also demonstrated competence and knowledge in various complex situations and cases. These qualities qualify her to be the minister in charge of superior electoral court. These attributes shows that someone having great value is occupying the TSE chair. Her abilities are crucial during moments of political crisis and during a year of elections eve when Lossio assumes the roles of Minister TSE holder.

Lossio is a busy person but she often has time to enjoy her hobby of equestrianism. She learnt the art of horse riding as a fun activity but soon developed a passion for the sport. She learnt how to balance between her studies, profession and sports. Owing to her passion for the game, Lossio earned the title of the Brazilian Champion Amateur Jump as well as the Society Hipica Brasilia. During the game, Lossio went around the route three times. She led her mare, Nikita, and jumped obstacles having a height of 1.20 m. She overcame 40 riders including men and women.
